The Sports Museum consists of a half-mile of exhibits at the TD Garden, the home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.

During your visit to The Sports Museum, our Museum Assistants will guide you through The Sports Museum, which is located on the Premium Levels 5 & 6 of TD Garden. Here you will see the treasures that we have on display evidencing the rich heritage of Boston sports and the influence of sports on the social history and evolution of Boston.

Hours of Operation

Monday – Sunday: 12 PM – 4:30 PM.

The Sports Museum Tour leaves at 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.

The Sports Museum Tours are walk-in only.

Hours subject to change daily. 

Effective February 21, 2022, TD Garden and The Sports Museum announced that they will align with the City of Boston and end the requirement for proof of vaccination for all Sports Museum Tours.

Effective March 5, 2022, The Sports Museum will align with the City of Boston and lift the mask requirement. Per CDC guidelines, masks are highly recommended for those who are high risk but are no longer required.

No, we do not offer tours of TD Garden during the season of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.

No. The Sports Museum Public Tours and TD Garden Arena Tours are WALK-IN only. Tickets can be purchased at The Sports Museum Information Desk or at the ProShop located in North Station.

Please go to The Sports Museum Information Desk, which is located outside of the ProShop in North Station. All tours will begin there. Please arrive 10 minutes in advance of the tour time you signed up for to check in.

There is an 18 person capacity per tour for our Sports Museum Public Tours.

Boston Duck Tours: 50% off to Boston Duck Tour riders for the day of the tour. Please present the Duck Tour receipt at Sports Museum Information Desk.

EBT Card to Culture Program: We are proud to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming. All adults with a valid EBT card receive admission for $3.00. Those 18 and under with a valid EBT card receive free admission.

Go City: Free Admission to those with the Go City Pass

Iron Mountain/TJX: Free admission for employees when company ID is shown. Guests with the employee must pay the full admission price.

Library Pass Program: Free Admission with a valid pass from a participating public library. Check your local library to see if they are a participating member and for the availability of the Library Pass.

MilitaryFree admission to all active military members and their family members with a valid military ID.

Plymouth Rock: Free admission when Plymouth Rock free admission pass is shown.

Reciprocal Museum Staff: Free admission for any Boston or Greater Boston Area museum staff with a valid staff ID.

TD Bank Customers: Free admission for a valid TD Bank Debit Card cardholder in addition to up to five guests.

Wonderfund: All adults with a Wonderfund card receive admission for $3.00. Those 18 and under with a Wonderfund card receive admission for $1.00. For more on the Wonderfund program click here.

While the Public Tours and the Private VIP Tours take the same route (Levels 5 and 6 of TD Garden), the difference between the tours are — our Public Tours are offered daily every half-hour on the hour. These tours typically last 1 hour and can be a group as large as 18 people, depending on how many guests show up on that particular day and time.

Our Private VIP Tours are just for you and your group. It is $35/person and typically lasts around an hour to two hours. Again, the tour route remains the same, but our Private VIP Tours are given by our Curator or Associate Curator (when available) who are single handedly responsible for our artifacts and exhibits. Additionally, our VIP Tours can be tailored to your interests and you can customize in regards to learning more about the history of one team over another, or about TD Garden itself.

Yes, there are plenty of restrooms. However, we do request that you use the restroom at the beginning or end of the program if possible in deference to others on your Public Tour.

Due to the fact that we are located in an active arena, we only offer guided tours of The Sports Museum and TD Garden. All visitors must be with a tour guide at all times.

Yes, The Sports Museum is fully accessible. However, please notify us of any special needs; as it will help us make your visit go smoother.

Groups with special needs should contact Nick Collins at ncollins@sportsmuseum.org.

No, there is no bus parking available. Buses may drop off students and return after 90 minutes. For bus parking locations, please visit the City of Boston’s Transportation Department.

Yes, Service dogs that are trained to provide services and tasks for persons with disabilities are permitted. Support or companion animals are not permitted.

The Sports Museum does not have a gift shop. However, The ProShop is located on Level 1 of the Garden and carries items from all four sports teams.

The Sports Museum itself does not have private rooms available to rent but we work closely with TD Garden’s Sportservice department to provide you with all your venue, food & beverage, A/V, and entertainment needs. TD Garden has a variety of rooms that are available to rent, and you can include museum tours during your event here at TD Garden.

Yes, you are welcome to take photos during your visit with the exception of photographing or videotaping practices or other events taking place at TD Garden.

We follow TD Garden security procedures. If you have any bags, please note that they can’t exceed 14″x14″x6″ and will be subject to x-ray screening and inspection.

Elevators located in the parking garage will bring you directly to the main concourse in North Station, which will then lead you the ProShop located in North Station where guests will find The Sports Museum Information Desk and meet for tours.
